IOC is a terrific funding source for your club: Your club gets funding, your members get great fresh oranges, and Inland grove gets saved.
IOC Donates to Community Groups
One of the missions of Inland Orange Conservancy is to support community groups that support orange grove preservation. We expect to donate $10,000 to $20,000 dollars in the coming season to such groups. We decide on our contributions primarily based on IOC Citrus Supporter designation—in other words, each season as our Citrus Supporters join or renew their membership, they designate a community group that they feel supports the cause of orange preservation. For each such vote of support, IOC then makes a donation of $15 to that group.

This is a great funding opportunity!
This amounts to a great new funding opportunity for community groups like PTAs, church groups, civic organizations, sports clubs, etc. If members from your group join and designate you for IOC support, then the resulting contribution can be quite sizeable. A group with thirty IOC "votes", for example, would receive a $450 contribution. This would repeat year after year as the designations are made with each new season. This amounts to a new, ongoing funding resource available to your group to energize its programs with no added effort!
The other thing that's great about it...
Your group may choose to go out and promote IOC memberships because:
- It's Healthy: Unlike chocolates or cookies, it involves a tremendously healthy product—fresh oranges.
- It's Safe: Kids don't need to go door-to-door because only a few IOC memberships yield large returns.
- It's All in the Community: All the proceeds stay within the community for its own benefit, instead of having profits go to some New Jersey mega-conglomerate.
An added bonus!
Ordinarily, IOC Citrus Supporters pick up their oranges at one of twenty points throughout the area. But in the case of community groups with 30 or more IOC members, their oranges will be delivered to wherever they want. For a group which meets weekly, like a Kiwanis Club or a sports club, IOC Citrus Supporters can pick up their oranges at their club meeting. This may help your club's attendance rate!
